The 16 nationally standardized exams included in our Content Mastery Series
are constructed to measure a student's knowledge in specific content areas.
These proctored exams, designed to be administered at the completion of each
content area, identify strengths and knowledge deficits of the class and of
individual students. These achievement tests help nurse educators to evaluate
course and program objectives and specific course content as well as to enhance
the curriculum. More importantly, the exams can lower program attrition rates
by offering faculty the opportunity to provide remediation earlier.
Strengthening a student's knowledge base ultimately will strengthen NCLEX pass
rates and ensure that the student is a safe practitioner after graduation.
The tests/content areas are:

| Administration |
 |
Exams can be administered in the classroom as a group with strict faculty
supervision, or scheduled individually on the computer using the Internet as
time and space allow. We recommend completing computer testing in one day to
discourage "sharing" test information among students.

| |
| Diagnostic Score Reporting |
 |
A total composite score and percentage correct score in subtopic areas are
provided in the individualized diagnostic report. The report contains
scores for the subcontent areas, nursing process, critical thinking phases, and
cognitive levels. Question descriptors are provided for all "missed"
items, allowing the student a directed study for the identified areas of
content weakness.
In addition, each school of nursing receives a composite, comprehensive summary
of their students’ scores. A comparison of school scores to the national
averages is also included.
